The following is a collection of selected speeches, legislation, and battle reports that were written during the U.S.-Mexican War of 1846-1848. Most were taken from A Documentary History of the Mexican War, a DMWV publication that was compiled and printed in 1995. It contains 170 documents that collectively tell the story of this little-known but important conflict.

The purpose of this site is provide students, researchers, and other interested persons an opportunity to read the actual text of documents that are frequently cited in written histories of the war.
