Annual Meeting

2002 Annual Meeting, Corpus Christi, Texas

An annual membership meeting is held each fall, usually in mid-September.

  15. September 20, 2003, Fort Jesup State Historical Park, Louisiana.
  16. September 18, 2004, Alamo Hall, San Antonio, Texas. (Held in conjunction with a Mexican War conference and the dedication of the new US Army of Occupation Monument in Corpus Christi's Old Bayview Cemetery.)
  17. September 16-18, 2005, Monterrey and Saltillo, Mexico. Group tour of battlesites, including The Bishop's Palace, Buena Vista, & other sites.
  18. September 16, 2006, Fort Jesup State Historical Park, Louisiana.
  19. September 15, 2007, University of Texas at Arlington Special Collections Tour.
  20. December 13, 2008, Garland, Texas.
  21. June 27, 2009. Cypress, Texas. Trip to Monterrey was canceled by tour company.
  22. May 31, 2010. Biloxi, Mississippi. Memorial Day Ceremony and grave dedication for remains of four US Army officers of the Mexican War.
  23. June 11, 2011. University of Texas, Arlington. Presentation of Alexander Kenaday Meritorious Service Medal (posthumously) to Mr. Jenkins Garrett and tour of special collections.
  24. Saturday, June 2, 2012. Brazos Valley Museum, Bryan, Texas. Tour of the new veterans memorial park trail Mexican War remembrance station.
  25. Saturday, May 25, 2013. Beach Park & Pier, Pascagoula, Mississippi. Tour of Mexican War sites and viewing of panels sponsored by the DMWV.
  26. June 21, 2014. University of Texas, Arlington. Special Tour of the new Mexican War exhibit and and tour of special collections.
  27. Saturday, June 13, 2015. Beach Park & Pier, Pascagoula, Mississippi. Guided special boat tour of Greenwood Island and viewing of new Camp Jefferson Davis MDAH historical marker sponsored by the DMWV.
  28. Saturday, June 11, 2016. Bryan Museum, Galveston, Texas. Guided special tour of Bryan Museum and viewing of newly acquired Mexican War Artifacts followed by lunch and meeting at Shrimp and Stuff Restaurant.
  29. Saturday, July 8, 2017. University of Texas at Arlington Library.
  30. Saturday, October 27, 2018. Hillsboro, Texas, LaQuinta Inn, with a tour of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco, Texas and lunch at Jake's Texas Tea House.
  31. Saturday, November 9, 2019. Mesquite, Texas. Mesquite Library, with lunch at Baker's Ribs.
  32. 2020. No annual meeting was held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  33. Saturday, September 11, 2021. Nicholson Memorial Library in Garland, Texas, plus for the first time the meeting was also set up on Zoom.
  34. September 10, 2022. Fort Jesup State Historic Site, Many, Louisiana. In person and hybrid Zoom Meeting.
  35. September 30, 2023. San Antonio Missions National Historic Park, San Antonio, Texas. In person and hybrid Zoom Meeting.
