3. Pvt. Philip Lee, Co. E, 4th Infantry. Age 27, born Ireland, occ: laborer. In his memoirs, former President Ulysses S. Grant, a 2nd Lieutenant at the time of the battle, recalled seeing this man decapitated by a cannon ball.
4. Pvt. John Fisher, Band, 8th Infantry. Age 34, born Pilsen, Germany, occ: soldier.
5. Pvt. Henry A. Carpenter, Co. A, 8th Infantry. Age 29, born New Holland, Pennsylvania, occ: carpenter.

Wounded:
1. *Brevet Major Samuel Ringgold, 3d Artillery. Severely wounded in both thighs by cannon fire. Died May 11, 1846 at Point Isabel and buried outside walls of Fort Polk, Texas. Remains reinterred in Greenmount Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland, on December 22, 1846.
2. *Captain John Page, 4th Infantry. Entire underjaw blown away by cannon fire. Died July 12, 1846 aboard steamboat Missouri, near Cairo, Illinois.
